Pioneer's Rest is the oldest cemetery in Fort Worth. Located just outside downtown, the land became a cemetery in 1850 to bury the children of Major Ripley Arnold.
Although not as large as Oakwood Cemetery, Pioneer's Rest offers a glimpse to the past. Many of the headstones have succumbed to age and weather, names and dates are hard to distinguish. But, it is still worth a visit.
